This bike’s owner did not like the way the red paint on the frame had faded to more pinkish colour over time and it had become a bit neglected, but now was the time to revive it.
I took it away and stripped all the parts from the bike so we were left with a bare frame and forks. I then took this to Fine Finishing at Cassington who did the sandblasting and powder coating. In the meantime I cleaned up the parts that were being reused, which was the majority, with a bit of good old elbow grease.
When the bike was returned in its new shade of blue the reassembly started, with new inner and outer cables, bar tape and some fresh rubber on the wheels. The result was a bike the owner was happy to be seen on once again.
